More information:
The tasks may only be defined for java file, so i don't see why it has to be scanned of task if the saved file is not a java file.

Hi Adrian,

Actually tasks *can* be defined in xml but it has to be enabled explicitly.

So are you actually seeing this task to take any time ? On my machine it just pops up and goes away again pretty instantly.

Are you referring to the job "Scanning for Tasks" that appears in the Progress view?

That job supports any kind of file a plug-in wants to scan.  It shouldn't be visible, though.
