Please let me know if this is a firewall problem as per the following:

On Windows Vista and Windows XP with SP2, the firewall needs to be reconfigured to unblock AC's ports. (See bugzilla 178541). To resolve this, when installing Agent Controller for remote data collection, reconfigure the firewall to open ports 10002, 10003, 10005, and 10006 to enable full functionality. These port numbers are defined in the Agent Controller serviceconfig.xml file.

Hi Naik, have you been able to confirm whether the firewall was involved in blocking your connection to the agent controller? Also, can you include what steps you took to get this exception? Thanks!
Comment 3 Youmm P. CLA 2007-09-10 05:54:28 EDT
I've got the same problem under Linux x86, a Suse distribution. It's not a firewall problem: I can do a nc -l -p 10001.

Hi Naik and Youmm,
Does your Eclipse HomeDir has spaces?
Thanks, Igor
Comment 5 Samson Wai CLA 2007-09-10 13:47:52 EDT
Hi. Which version of TPTP AC are you using? Do you have the driver number?
Comment 6 Youmm P. CLA 2007-09-11 03:56:49 EDT
My workspace HomeDir doe not contain any space, nor its full path.

I used last TPTP provided via the Europa update site with Eclipse 3.3.0 (build id: I20070621-1340).

I installed separately the Agent Controller and it works fine.

Hi Bing. I have transferred my bugs to you for triage. Thanks.
Comment 8 Bing Xu CLA 2008-01-18 15:00:29 EST
Naik and Youmm,

Can you try these:

1. Make sure there is a config.jar under your <eclipse install>/plugins/org.eclipse.hyades.execution.xxxxxxx directory.

2. Make sure IAC is enabled and configured in Eclipse, under Window -> Preferences -> Agent Controller. In XP, in a cmd window, go to your <eclipse install>/plugins/org.eclipse.tptp.platform.ac.linux_ia32_xxxx/agent_controller/bin, see if you can start ACServer and test connection in Eclipse.

3. Try to download a TPTP from TPTP download site (http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/)

Comment 9 Bing Xu CLA 2008-04-04 13:48:12 EDT
Naik and Youmm, is this still a valid defect?
Comment 10 Bing Xu CLA 2008-04-10 09:46:21 EDT
Retarget to 'future'.
Comment 11 Bing Xu CLA 2008-04-10 10:14:36 EDT
Naik and Youmm, I am closing this for now. If you encounter this again in the future please reopen it.
Comment 12 Paul Slauenwhite CLA 2009-06-30 12:13:17 EDT
As of TPTP 4.6.0, TPTP is in maintenance mode and focusing on improving quality by resolving relevant enhancements/defects and increasing test coverage through test creation, automation, Build Verification Tests (BVTs), and expanded run-time execution. As part of the TPTP Bugzilla housecleaning process (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Bugzilla_Housecleaning_Processes), this enhancement/defect is verified/closed by the Project Lead since this enhancement/defect has been resolved and unverified for more than 1 year and considered to be fixed. If this enhancement/defect is still unresolved and reproducible in the latest TPTP release (http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/), please re-open.
