Description Philipe Mulet CLA 2001-10-10 22:24:12 EDT
I am not a big fan of the current layout of the menus in the Java perspective. Many menus with little entries...

- 'Java'  ---> open type
- 'Project' --> build/rebuild
- 'Window' ---> preferences

The menu organization seemed better in VAJ. I like the 'Selected' one, which I am missing now.
I feel that the perspective menu should rather be merged with the 'Window' one, where perspectives could simply appear as
window layouts. At least the 'Window' menu could have 3 different sub-items:

Window/Preferences
Window/Perspectives
Window/Show View/...

In the 'Java' menu, why aren't the various toolbar options available as well (search for example).

Also having a hook to the VCM (like the management query tool in VAJ) would be nice.

	I also dislike the fact I have to indirect through 'Others...' in general in the menus, so as to get to non generic elements (which I will likely
	never use when doing Java stuff). In the Java world, the defaults should be Java elements, the rest could be reachable through Others...

	In the Java perspective you don't have to go through Others. You currently have to go through others for the Open To actions,
	but this will be fixed in the next workbench build input.

Obsolete - a usability review was done and a new menu structure is being used.
