Sometimes, the user may need to create a new Task Repository which is similar to an existing one. So it's better to have Mylyn be able to create a new Task Repository based on an existing one, all attributes can be inherited, then the user only need to make some minor changes to create a new one.

Are you requesting this for Bugzilla or some other specific repository connector? There isn't really many attributes besides repository url, user name and password are required for the most of repository types.

For General Web based connnector, there are many advanced attributes (like login url...) to set. Hmm, I think if the templates for those Web based connnector are good enough, maybe we don't need this feature. Thanks.

There is bug 195660, but it is not exactly about copying task repository configuration.

It appears as though this capability could (though indirectly) be supported by bug#195660.  Matt, if you have any additional requirements/concerns please raise them on  that report.
