Description
Shawn Minto
Makes sense. As a general rule, whenever providing facilities for attaching a context we should provide a preview. However, low priority since there is already a straightforward work-around (preview before attaching) and since editing the context within the wizard might make the user think that they are editing a copy. Notably, we could provide a facility where they are editing a copy. What is still confuses me about the task editors is their dual nature. They do have some offline facilities and yet there are some stuff that is "submit"-based, like attaching things, reassigning as well as few other actions. The problem with those is that you can't undo them or delay submission and they not really resemble the pure editor. Yes, that could be part of the root problem here. For example, if everything was submit based (e.g. we did not allow any submission from a wizard, only the editor itself) we would not need a custom solution for this and could rely on the Context tab. Setting for 3.0 since this could be one of the drivers for unifying how attachments work with the rest of the task editor lifecycle. Shawn: if you're still interested in this, could you consider adding the current page to the wizard? It should be pretty straightforward as long as you don't try to work around the limitation of bug 174658. Tentatively scheduling for 3.1 planning. *** Bug 233729 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1].
