The CIC provides XML-based VO informations at https://cic.gridops.org/index.php?section=vo&page=download_vodata. These could be used to implement an import functionality for g-Eclipse to prevent the user from entering his VO settings by hand. Therefore an import button will be added to the VO preference page that opens a wizard for downloading one or more VO-cards and importing these into g-Eclipse.

The import functionality from CIC is in principle implemented. There is still something missing which is the BDII but this is not yet part of the CIC information. I am in contact with the guys there and hopefully this will appear in the future. Nevertheless I am closing this item for the moment. Missing functionality will be delivered if it is available from the portal.
