Bug 1965

Summary: [Perspectives] Closing help view should go back to previous perspective (1GD0CUY)
Product: [Eclipse Project] Platform Reporter: Nick Edgar <n.a.edgar>
Component: UIAssignee: Platform-UI-Inbox <Platform-UI-Inbox>
Status: RESOLVED DUPLICATE QA Contact:
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P3 Keywords: investigate, usability
Version: 2.0
Target Milestone: ---
Hardware: All
OS: Windows 2000
Whiteboard:

Description Nick Edgar CLA 2001-10-10 22:23:20 EDT
- activate Navigator view
- hit F1
- choose one of the items
- the Help view opens in the Help perspective
- close the Help view
- you're left with a blank perspective

This is very confusing. In order to get back to the regular perspective, you have to
choose Perspective / Close.

Closing the Help view should put you back where you were when you hit F1.

NOTES:

It may make sense to generalize this: if last view closed, close perspective.

Comment 2 Kevin Haaland CLA 2002-01-24 07:11:13 EST
Pls verify that this is fixed as part of the "loss of context" work that we
were doing.
Comment 3 Simon Arsenault CLA 2002-05-27 11:30:17 EDT
Help is no longer a perspective. However, we should look into this general
issue for the next release.

Reopened for investigation
