Confirmed, newsgroups are missing from the dropdown list. And yet, they're listed here: http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/project-info/newsgroup and here: http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/project-info/project-info.xml Should they be listed somewhere else, too? How does that dropdown get populated? The search drop down is updated manually, and the emf and emft groups were removed when those projects 'moved' to new modeling newsgroups in order to prevent people form trying to search/post to closed lists. I've added them back into the list, and marked them as closed. -M. I was under the impression that because there has yet to be found a solution for moving (renaming) a newsgroup (eg., from eclipse.tools.emf to eclipse.modeling.emf) that we'd all decided (last year some time?) to keep the old tools.emf and tech.xsd newsgroups active because they have a long history of already-been-answered questions. If you can come up with a way to rename the old newsgroups to their eclipse.modeling.* new names, then by all means, the old ones can be marked closed; however, until that time I believe Ed will want the "old" ones to be marked "open" because they are in fact still being actively used. Reopening bug to request removal of the "(Closed)" label in the dropdown. Also, eclipse.technology.xsd is missing from the list. ;-) Updated and added. At this time there still is no way to rename a newsgroup. -M. |
