Description Chris Aniszczyk CLA 2007-06-14 20:27:27 EDT
This has always been a dream of mine for use within IM clients, maybe because I develop so much. I want something similar to Ctrl+Shift+T in Eclipse for browsing IM contacts quickly and messaging someone. I believe Eclipse has this functionality now abstracted into a class AbstractSearchDialog (or w/e it is called).

Ctrl+Shift+C (contacts) maybe? Ctrl+Shift+M (messaging)?

Any thoughts?

How about Ctrl-Shift-P (people) :). Seems not to be bound yet.

I like the idea of work on presenting alternate views of buddy list/presence information. e.g. there's already the idea of locally customized names #183025, but I think that much more could be done with the IRoster data structure.

FilteredItemsSelectionDialog

Platform UI is running out of short names as you can see :)

I'm going to take a stab at this on the plane tomorrow.

This will have to go post 1.0, I blogged about it too since I felt good about it ;p

commited to head.

The shortcut is bound to Ctrl+Shift+P (M1+M2+P). If we want to fight about the shortcut, open another bug :)
