Description Reuben Firmin CLA 2007-06-13 22:20:00 EDT
Build ID: M20070212-1330

Steps To Reproduce:
Eclipse seems to override the KDE "mouse clipboard" the first time I select any text in an external application, and then attempt to paste it into Eclipse. When I go back and select & paste again, it works.

1. Open Kate
2. Type in some text
3. Select the text with your mouse
4. Click over to the Eclipse editor
5. Paste by clicking both mouse buttons
6. Note that "type filter text" appears
7. Go to 3. Note that the problem does not reoccur

This is an Eclipse bug, not a KDE bug, as the problem does not occur in other applications.

CORRECTION -
4. Click over to Eclipse, and open the Run dialog
5. Paste into one of the "arguments" pane's text fields

(Pasting into the editor behaves correctly.)

This is working as designed: since the launch dialog has a filtered tree it is the first widget to get focus when the dialog opens (like the preferences dialog). On taking focus all of the 'prompting' filter text is selected so the user can immediately begin typing to filter the view (again like the pref dialog).

If you try the mentioned steps on any page in the pref dialog that has a text field the same thing occurs.
