new editors
Here is the current look of those editors. I couldn't make them any narrower without horizontal scrollbar.
Yes, this is something that I have been waiting for us to do as part of merging local and repository tasks. I would say it is an usability fix and not an enhancement. BTE, I really like Estimated hours: [ ] X vs "Estimated: [ ] hours" especially the handy "X" button up there. Anyways, is converting local tasks into the repository is on the table for 2.0? Rob: this will be part of our local/repository task merge. Will still do minor UI improvements, but for 2.0 the design won't change. Steffen: is this now a duplicate of our plan to merge the Planning and Bugzilla pages? I am not sure. We will still need an editor for local tasks that is separate from repository editors. I think that it would be great to merge these editors for Mylyn 3.1 and get rid of the custom editor for local tasks. Please consider closing this as WONTFIX and making a new bug for having only one editor for us to streamline and debug :) I'll consider this for 3.1. This could be tricky though: The editors currently use different data models. Task editors uses task data whereas the planning editor operates directly on AbstractTask. We need to investigate implementing a common abstraction that will also support the rich text extensions. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 211096 *** Reopening, we will still need a local task editor for non repository tasks. The task editor extension support in AbstractRichtTextAttributeEditor should be generalized for reuse by the local task editor. It looks like we're done here! We now use the same editor and have streamlined the layout. |
