Bug 187978

Summary: [quick fix] quick fix offers deprecated classes
Product: [Eclipse Project] JDT Reporter: benson margulies <bimargulies>
Component: UIAssignee: JDT-UI-Inbox <jdt-ui-inbox>
Status: CLOSED WONTFIX QA Contact:
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Version: 3.2.1
Target Milestone: ---
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows XP
Whiteboard: stalebug

Description benson margulies CLA 2007-05-19 22:17:41 EDT
Build ID: Build id: M20070212-1330

Steps To Reproduce:
1. arrange classpath to include two classes with name X, one deprecated, one not. (e.g. com.a.b.X, com.c.d.X).
2. reference X in new code, no import.
3. observe that the deprecated X is listed on the quick-fix proffers of imports, sometimes at the head of the list.

More information:
I'd suggest that deprecated classes don't belong on the list, but, if they do, they belong at the bottom of the list.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
