Description Wayne Beaton CLA 2007-05-17 11:21:51 EDT
The "Eclipse Tools For Java Development" should ideally initially open with the "Java" perspective.

It'd also be nice if the Mylar configuration dialog could disappear and instead just use the default Mylar options (since this is what most users will do anyway, I imagine). My concern is for first time users; I'd rather not scare them with a dialog box the first time they start up Eclipse.

I'm torn about this. The argument to keep it has been that we are setting a JDT preference (content assist), not just our own preferences. However, there used to be more preferences that we set of that sort, they are now gone, so I think we should explore removing this.

Wayne: could you please file a bug against Mylar?

Mik & Wayne, is there a bug against Mylar about the initial configuration dialog available somewhere?
I couldn't find anything in bugzilla.
Comment 3 Markus Knauer CLA 2007-06-09 10:55:30 EDT
Well, I found the bug report, its Mylar bug 187880
Comment 4 Markus Knauer CLA 2007-06-28 05:18:50 EDT
Initial Perspectives:

CPP - C Perspective
Java - Java Perspective
RCP - Java Perspective
JEE - J2EE Perspective

The problem with the initial Mylyn dialog is resolved.
Comment 5 Mik Kersten CLA 2007-06-28 13:50:30 EDT
Correct, the Mylyn wizard will not show anymore. More on that is mentioned in bug 194766 comment#11.
