Description Dave Smith CLA 2007-05-16 13:25:13 EDT
I was testing the Perfmon Agent remotely on a IPF machine running Windows 2003 using the Agent Controller from TPTP-4.4.0-200705080100B build. When I terminate the Perfmon Agent process from the Profiling Monitor view, the Agent Controller terminates as well with no error messages. Here is my machine environment:

Client:
IA32 machine
Windows 2000
IBM JRE 1.5 SR4

Server:
IPF machine
Windows 2003 Server
IBM JRE 1.4.2 SR7 (64-bit)

Steps to reproduce:
1) Launch Windows System Trace (Perfmon Agent) on remote IPF machine
2) Open Agent Control and Statistical Graph views
3) Start Monitoring the Perfmon Agent and select some counters in the Agent Control view to monitor.
4) Let it monitor the counters for 15 seconds
5) Select the Perfmon Agent in the Profiling Monitor view and click the Terminate button on the tool bar. Click Yes when asked if you want to terminate the process.
6) The Perfmon Agent shows terminated in the Profiling Monitor view.
7) Notice that the Agent Controller on the IPF machine is not running any more.
