Description Matt Grove CLA 2007-05-14 11:20:47 EDT
The problems view should have some kind of UI indicator (help icon or something similar) to differentiate between markers that have F1 help associated with them via markerHelp extensions (available since 3.2) and markers that don't. Users currently have no way of knowing which markers have help associated with them. I suspect that users will stop using a function that returns inconsistent results, and I doubt that they will keep the Help view open (and taking up valuable screen space) on the off-chance that they will see help for a marker.

This is implement in build >20071001. Load the example to see this in action (we are going to improve the icon).

Load the example

Repository path: /cvsroot/org.eclipse
Module: www/eclipse/platform-ui/plugins/org.eclipse.ui.ide.examples.markers

and then generate the test markers from the markersView.
