Description Prashant CLA 2007-05-11 07:50:15 EDT
Build ID: M20060118-1600

Steps To Reproduce:
1.Go for creating any File Resource by wizards.
2. From wizard go to New->File,Enter file name in between 190 to 240 characters.
3.The file resource will not create.

More information:
I am creating a File resource with file name in between 190 to 240, the resource will not create. If the character length is more than 250, it will show an Error dialog saying "Could not write file". Check by creating any XML file from eclipse.
Comment 1 Prashant CLA 2007-05-11 08:08:27 EDT
If the file name is over 250 characters its shows an error message. But if I give file name below than 250 character at least it should display the same error message.

This is a windows limitation, not an Eclipse one. Plus, it isn't "190" but rather dependent on where you have your workspace or file or directories. IT's probably 190 because you've put Eclispe in e.g. c:\Documents and Settings\Userid\workspace\Project or something like that, which is eating up the other 60 chars.

This isn't a bug, and it's FYI it's pointless opening bugs in anything other than the 3.3 stream; 3.1 has been closed for some time, and I doubt that any major changes would be made on the 3.2 stream.
