StyledText.setSelectionForeground(Color) has no effect.

We could argue that this is a Platform limitation but then this should be mentioned in the Javadoc.

This is a platform limitation, same goes for Vista. 
In Mac the text foreground does not change when the text is select. In Vista the text foreground is merged with 0.4 alpha of the selection background. 

I'll add to the java doc a note about this.

Yes. On WPF the background you pick in drawn with alpha, so you pick red for selection background against white (normal) background it will draw pink. very cute.
