Description Valentina Popescu CLA 2007-04-12 09:17:56 EDT
The Test Log editor displays the result of the test invocations and allows to create new defects for failed testcases.
The problem is that I can't copy the excetion displayed in the Test area. I used the tool to run a few testsuites and I find this limitation hard to overcome and extremely restrictive
All I can do is memorize the exception content and write it back to the defect.

Reassign to Bianca since she is the maintainer of this component.

Hi, Valentina, for Verdict events, when there are exceptions associated with the event, the stack trace will be shown in the *Text* field of the Properties section. There is a context menu "Copy Stack Trace" on that field which allows you to copy the complete exception stack trace.

I'm wondering if you are seeing some exceptions happened during test execution but not included in the test log? If that's the case, can you attach your test suite so that we can understand the issue better? It might require some changes in the test runner where the test log xml fragment is generated.

I don't see any exceptions but I don't see the copy menu either

Deferred from I5 to I6 with PMC approval.

The problem here is that when the Text field in the Properties panel of the Events tab contains a stack trace, the Copy Stack Trace context menu does not always appear when the user right mouse clicks the Text field. When the Text field contains plain text, the Copy/Paste/Select All context menu always appears.

This was an issue when using NetMeeting to Tony's machine. Using the TPTP workbench locally, there is no issue with showing the context menu.

Closing by default since not closed by the originator in the 7+ months since
being resolved.

Please reopen if the issue is still present in the latest TPTP release or the
resolution is not correct.
