Description
Scott Lewis
We are not going to immediately (1.0.0) address this, because it would mean adding ECF plugins to those that are automatically started/run when Eclipse is started, and for Europa that is considered 'bad form' for a project to do. I think that eventually (1.1.0), we will provide a preference for people to have ECF startup and automatically login to a specified set of accounts. Leaving bug open...Max (or others) please comment. I am sorry for the late reply, but It took me a while before I could update my eclipse to Europa, and now I am testing the 1.0.0 version of ECF. I guess I will wait for 1.1.0 (or later) for this feature. IMO an automatic connect is a requirement to fully replace an external chat application. Setting target milestone to 1.1.0. Although this enhancement is certainly worthwhile, unfortunately, I (Scott) do not currently have resources to address this bug myself in the near term and so am adding the helpwanted keyword in hopes that others will contribute collaboratively. If this gets addressed for Helios, then no one would/will be happier than I. If resources from interested parties are available to support this enhancement specifically then please contact me directly at slewis at composent.com. Regrettably resolving as wontfix, as there are no committer or contributor resources available to address this. If resources do become available, please reopen. |
