Description amehrega CLA 2007-03-19 16:02:18 EDT
Build:  TPTP-4.4.0-200703191302
The layout of the perspective has been modified to show a pane for editors. The empty editor space takes up half of the perspective (resetting doesn't fix the problem).

I don't see any recent change under PDPerspective.java. I'm not sure how the recent change was introduced

In PDPerspective(org.eclipse.hyades.trace.internal.ui.PDPerspective) where org.eclipse.ui.IPerspectiveFactory.createInitialLayout(IPageLayout) is implemented,
layout.setEditorAreaVisible(false);
is there to not show the editor area.

This line works in TPTP 4.3.1 with Eclipse 3.2.2.

When I put TPTP 4.3.1 with Eclipse 3.3 build eclipse-SDK-I20070306-1200-win32. Problem shows.

layout.setEditorAreaVisible(false); is no longer work in the latest Eclipse build.

What is the status of this defect? I'm bumping up the severity to critical unless there is a workaround to fix this problem. This is completely messing up the TPTP perspective.

I'm no longer observing this problem with the latest TPTP build.
