Steps To Reproduce:
Follow the test case Platform.UI.ProfilingPerspective.ProfileToFile.ProfileToFile_attach_local2

(1) Attach to a local application; specify profile data to file xyz.
  (2) Start monitoring.  Check data written to xyz.
  (3) Continue monitoring.  Check data written to xyz.
  (4) Pause monitoring.  No data written to xyz.
  (5) Start monitoring.  Check data written to xyz.
  (6) Continue monitoring.  Check data written to xyz.
  (7) Detach from agent.  No data written to xyz.
  (8) Unselect the profile data to file checkbox in the properties page.
  (9) Attach to agent.  No data written to ui, nor xyz.
  (10) Start monitoring.  Check data written to ui.
  (11) Continue monitoring.  Check data written to ui.
  (12) Detach from agent.  No data written to ui.
  (13) Select profile data to file checkbox in properties page.  Specify file xyz.
  (14) Attach to agent.  

The attach at step 14 is failing.

This problem still exists in TPTP-4.4.0-200703270100A.

This bug is currently blocked by bug 185249. and I cannot verify it for now.

This problem is reproducible with TPTP-4.4.0-200705080100C.

No, I'm using JVMPI. The detach/reattach scenario works fine but only the one described in the test case doesn't work.

I can no longer reproduce the problem with reattach on Vista(and XP). However I see bug 187090 and bug 190903  while verifying this bug.

Driver used: tptp.sdk-TPTP-4.4.0-200705310943

I am closing this bug for now.

As of TPTP 4.6.0, TPTP is in maintenance mode and focusing on improving quality by resolving relevant enhancements/defects and increasing test coverage through test creation, automation, Build Verification Tests (BVTs), and expanded run-time execution. As part of the TPTP Bugzilla housecleaning process (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Bugzilla_Housecleaning_Processes), this enhancement/defect is verified/closed by the Project Lead since the originator of this enhancement/defect has an inactive Bugzilla account and considered to be fixed. If this enhancement/defect is still unresolved and reproducible in the latest TPTP release (http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/), please re-open.
