Description Paul Slauenwhite CLA 2007-02-15 09:55:25 EST
[Vista] Can not create launch configuration for AGR test suite.

Using the enclosed test plug-in create on XP, the org.eclipse.tptp.test.tools.manual.tests\gui\editor\Test_Tools_Manual_Editor_Windows_XP.testsuite test suite cannot be launched on Vista. When create a launch configuration, the test suite does not appear in the Test tab of the Test launch configuration (see enclosed screen capture). Also, the same test suite does not appear in the Test Invocation dialog when attempting to add this test suite to the behavior of another AGR test suite (e.g. org.eclipse.tptp.test.tools.manual.tests\gui\AllTests.testsuite).

Moving to P1 major for 4.4. I need to get a 4.4 driver going on Vista to
further triage. I cannot reproduce with a 4.2.2 build on Vista.
Comment 4 Liz Dancy CLA 2007-02-19 17:16:09 EST
I have reproduced this on our Vista machine with 4.4 also. I find if I copy and paste your AGR test into a folder that already contains one (i.e. org.eclispe.hyades.use.cases) then it comes up fine when creating the launch configuration. I will keep investigating but for now you can use this workaround to run your tests on Vista without re-recording (selecting Run As > Test when it is in the use.cases folder also works).

Defect owner, please provide a sizing for this defect.
Comment 6 Liz Dancy CLA 2007-03-14 16:13:21 EDT
Updating target to 4.4i3 as 4.4i2 ends 03/16/07.
Comment 7 Paul Slauenwhite CLA 2007-05-07 11:52:42 EDT
Not required for Vista support since it is a usability issue (no function is blocked since only when test suites are extracted from CVS).
Comment 8 Paul Slauenwhite CLA 2007-05-18 16:18:42 EDT
This defect is a candidate for deferral from the 4.4 release. If the originator has opposition, please provide an argument against this deferral.
Comment 9 Paul Slauenwhite CLA 2007-05-28 15:09:27 EDT
Assigning to i4 since i3 is complete but this defect belongs to a block of in-plan 4.4 defects that are candidates for deferral.
Comment 10 Liz Dancy CLA 2007-05-31 15:37:23 EDT
I have tried to reproduce this with the May30 driver on Vista and it is working now. I am closing as worksforme (although this was definitely once a valid defect, it seems to have been fixed as a side effect of another fix)

Reporter: Please verify and close in preparation for shutting down the TPTP 4.4 release. Thanks.

Verified in TPTP-4.4.0-200706140100C.
