Description Joseph Marques CLA 2006-11-29 21:37:39 EST
Would it be possible to also highlight each section - "attributes", "people", "actions", "comments", etc - that contain any elements that have changed?

Over the past couple of days, I've had some issues where the change set is less than readily apparent, even with the light-blue highlight. In these cases, I've opened the issue and searched around for several seconds scrolling up and down only to find that the "assigned to" field has been changed or someone was added to the "cc list". I think if the something drew my attention first to the section, then to the element that changed, that it would help make the changes more apparent.

This is especially relevant when two elements have changed but only one is visible at a time - such as "priority" and "assigned to" - because they are on opposite ends of the editor.

Also, I've noticed that when some element in the "attributes" section changes, it is not always expanded. Thus, highlighting the section/title where the change occured for sections that are collapsed by default would help to draw attention to those changes as well.

+1 for highlighting section headers.

It would be also really handy to somehow mark changed attributes on the outline view for task editor. And maybe even go further and apply Mylar's filtering there, i.e. hide unchanged ones from the outline view.

If I am not mistaken, there should be another enhancement request to show changed attributes on the overview ruler bar in the task editor (similar to java editors). Can't find the issue thought.

Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1].

We are closing ~14K Bugzilla issues to give the new team a fresh start. If you feel that this issue is still relevant, please create a new one on GitHub.
