Description amehrega CLA 2006-11-07 18:05:41 EST
This regression is likely a result of the fix for https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=161123.

Build: TPTP-4.3.0-200611070100
Steps:
1) Open the profile launch configuration
2) Double click on Java Application to create a new launch configuration
3) Single click "Java Application"

Notice that the user is prompted to save the launch configuration despite not making any setting changes. The same behavior is not observed in the Run/Debug launch configuration.

Alexander, are you setting a launch configuration attribute during creation time that is causing the configuration to be marked as dirty?

Alexander is Out of office this week. I will take a look at this.
Comment 2 amehrega CLA 2006-11-08 10:11:24 EST
Guru,

We should perhaps target this to 4.4. I don't think it is a problem that should hold off the 4.3 release.
Comment 3 Guru Nagarajan CLA 2006-11-08 10:13:33 EST
Deferring to 4.4
Comment 4 amehrega CLA 2006-11-09 10:21:03 EST
Although I agree that this should be deferred to 4.4, I don't think its severity should be lowered to normal. I'm setting back the severity to major.

Guru, please use http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/documents/process/development/bugzilla.html as a guideline for setting severities and priorities. The reporter of a defect has to always agree before its severity is lowered.

Thanks.

This is really a regression.
And this patch should fix it

Thanks Alexander.
Per Ali this bug can deferred to 4.4.

Comment 8 Paul Slauenwhite CLA 2009-06-30 13:45:21 EDT
As of TPTP 4.6.0, TPTP is in maintenance mode and focusing on improving quality by resolving relevant enhancements/defects and increasing test coverage through test creation, automation, Build Verification Tests (BVTs), and expanded run-time execution. As part of the TPTP Bugzilla housecleaning process (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Bugzilla_Housecleaning_Processes), this enhancement/defect is verified/closed by the Project Lead since this enhancement/defect has been resolved and unverified for more than 1 year and considered to be fixed. If this enhancement/defect is still unresolved and reproducible in the latest TPTP release (http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/), please re-open.
