Description Ashish Patel CLA 2006-11-02 15:41:59 EST
Support Microsoft Vista - both from the workbench side and the agent controller. This would include all UI, models, communication to remote systems - basically end-to-end full product support.

All of our products are going to support Vista sometime in the future. I believe Eclipse is doing work in their next release to support Vista, however, TPTP (which is a part of the basic platform that we use in many of our products) will also need to support Vista.

In order for this to happen, most probably in the next product pickup release of TPTP, the next release of TPTP that is product consumable should be Vista compatible.
Comment 1 Kent D Siefkes CLA 2006-11-21 17:49:07 EST
Changing Priority to P1, as demand for supporting Vista is steadily increasing, and Vista is now GM. Eclipse is seriously considering Vista Tolerance for 3.2.2, but unless TPTP follows suit, it doesn't benefit any consuming products of TPTP. If not achievable in 4.2.2, then clearly by 4.4, Vista will be critical.

This is a top level enh to group the work required for Vista support.

Some of the work has been done in 4.4, there are remaining items moved to future. Reseting target to future to match the target of the enhancements in open state
Comment 6 Dave Smith CLA 2007-03-21 12:27:19 EDT
Added bugzilla 170263 to the dependency list for full support of parsing Windows event logs on Vista.
Comment 7 jkubasta CLA 2007-03-30 16:06:49 EDT
Removed dependency on 168772
Comment 8 jkubasta CLA 2007-04-19 20:56:39 EDT
Valentina, are all of the remaining defects required before we can claim Vista support for 4.4? 168874, 170263 are targetted to 4.4, the rest are not.
Comment 9 Valentina Popescu CLA 2007-05-07 13:30:13 EDT
TPTP offers Vista support in 4.4 release.
There are a few Vista related issues which will be reviewed post 4.4; all these issues are identified not to be critical for the Vista support functionality offered in 4.4 :

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=168409 [Vista] Windows Vista, execution history timestamp is in GMT
This is a JVM issue and a fix is already available in higher releases. TPTP to release a readme note describing the problem

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=168948 Not able to run AGR test with security enabled on RAC
This problem is not Vista specific and will show up in any platform where large amount of data is being transferred through the RAC, with security on. We have this defect marked as critical and continue investigating the problem

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=171416 Agent Controller as a windows service on Vista can not create UI
This is a limitation due to the Vista architecture. When the agent
controller is installed as a service, processes that are launched by the agent controller are unable to create UI on the desktop, even if the service checkbox ("Allow service to interact with desktop") is checked.
