Description Raphael Ackermann CLA 2006-10-21 11:26:08 EDT
Opening for example a pdf file that is opened with a pdf viewer outside of Eclipse does not result in interest calculated for this file if it is opened using ctrl+shift+r. resource should gain interest so that it is shown in e.g., package explorer and can be opened by double clicking the next time.

I think that it is also not added to context, changes in such a resource are not detected and when doing commit context, the file in question will not be committed.

Yes, there is no selection event within Eclipse when this happens so we will require special monitoring for it.

Will consider for 3.1.

No simple approach to this without hacking code into the resource dialog, so we'll have to continue relying on resources getting selections for the time being.

With the limitation that this does not work for external editors, as stated in the description.

Is there any chance that someone will hack code into the resource dialog to make this work?
