Description Navid Mehregani CLA 2006-10-13 17:44:11 EDT
In light of various problems experienced with the stability of the Agent Controller (such as bug 160564 , bug 141909 and bug 118943), I believe we should create a set of stress test cases to ensure the reliability of the Agent Controller.

It should be relatively simple to create a set of automated test cases using the automation framework to do this. I've already implemented https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=148700, which allows a tester to run a test case multiple times. This can be used along with what's aleardy in the automation framework to create a set of stress test cases for the Agent Controller.

+1
Comment 2 amehrega CLA 2006-10-16 10:00:20 EDT
This enhancement should really be marked as a defect. This is a gap that we have in our test coverage and it needs to be addressed ASAP.
Comment 3 Navid Mehregani CLA 2006-10-16 10:12:24 EDT
I agree with Ali's comment. Raising severity to normal.

Cannot contain in 4.2.1.1 or 4.3, transferring to 4.4
Comment 5 jkubasta CLA 2007-03-20 13:56:50 EDT
Alan, would you please ensure that the tests that Joe Toomey provided in the referenced defects are added to our automated test suite? Preferably in time for the i2 test pass at the beginning of next week.
Comment 6 jkubasta CLA 2007-04-26 16:25:56 EDT
Stress tests are being run manually. defer to i4

I don't think we have any manual test cases stress testing the Agent Controller. Joanna, which manual test suite are you referring to?
Comment 8 jkubasta CLA 2007-05-04 17:23:39 EDT
Sorry, wasn't on cc list so didn't see your earlier append... am referring to stress tests created by Joe Toomey during 4.2.1.1
Comment 9 amehrega CLA 2007-05-04 17:29:45 EDT
I don't think these are actually part of our test pass plan. It was something he put together to demonstrate a defect in the Agent Controller.

Joe, please speak up if I'm wrong.
Comment 10 jkubasta CLA 2007-05-04 17:47:45 EDT
These are test cases that Kent asked Karla to include in our test buckets under an earlier defect (whose number I would have to look for if you want it).
Comment 11 jkubasta CLA 2007-05-04 17:51:41 EDT
Having said that, this is not to say that we will not develop and add additional test cases for stress testing
Comment 12 amehrega CLA 2007-05-05 01:41:41 EDT
ok, great. I wasn't aware that some had been added to our bucket.

As of TPTP 4.6.0, TPTP is in maintenance mode and focusing on improving quality by resolving relevant defects and increasing test coverage through test creation, automation, Build Verification Tests (BVTs), and expanded run-time execution. Since this defect is more than 2 years old, it may be no longer relevant. As part of the TPTP Bugzilla housecleaning process (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Bugzilla_Housecleaning_Processes), this defect is resolved as WONTFIX. If this defect is still relevant and reproducible in the latest TPTP release (http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/), please re-open.
