Bug 160082

Summary: [Workbench] Last-used items section in submenu required
Product: [Eclipse Project] Platform Reporter: Mandy Habinski <mandylh>
Component: IDEAssignee: Platform UI Triaged <platform-ui-triaged>
Status: CLOSED WONTFIX QA Contact:
Severity: normal
Priority: P5 CC: pwebster, remy.suen
Version: 3.0.2Keywords: helpwanted
Target Milestone: ---
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows XP
Whiteboard: stalebug

Description Mandy Habinski CLA 2006-10-06 15:42:07 EDT
Steps to reproduce:
1) Open a new workspace, go to menu File->New, select "Other" in the submenu;
2) In "New" wizard, select "Module"; Enter a module name and "Finish";
3) Go back to "File->New";

Problem:
"Module" is still not in the submenu.

Suggested changes:
It might be better to have a section in the submenu to display the last used
3 items, since they are often the "most frequently used items". This section
will become handy especially if these items can only be accessed through "Other".

This is a good idea, and should be suggested to the Eclipse
team. The "File | New" menu is handled by Eclipse. You
should see the same behaviour in all perspectives. Please
open a defect in Bugzilla against the appropriate Eclipse
component.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
