Description Gordon Henriksen CLA 2006-10-02 14:49:28 EDT
Each time I restart Eclipse, each column in the Problems tab grows incrementally larger. After a few restarts, I can't see anything but the Description column and am forced to rearrange the columns.

Closing and reopening the Perspective doesn't cause the columns to expand. Opening a new window seems to use a separate set of persistent values, or reverts to defaults.

From About Eclipse--

Eclipse SDK
Version: 3.2.0
Build id: M20060629-1905

Operating system--

Mac OS X 10.4.8 (Intel)

I have 2 monitors, one at 1440x900, the other 1680x1050. Eclipse runs on the larger monitor.

My layout is such:

+-------------+---+
|   |         |   |
|   |         | C |
| A |         |   |
|   +---------+---+
|   |      B      |

I can't post the "after" PNG; attachment.cgi seems to hang. I'll leave the form submission spinning, and if it doesn't take then you'll just have to take my word for it.
Comment 3 Gordon Henriksen CLA 2006-10-02 16:17:26 EDT
Seems fixed in 3.2.1.
Comment 4 Gordon Henriksen CLA 2006-10-02 20:48:14 EDT
I was mistaken; didn't occur in a brand new workspace, but otherwise still occurs in 3.2.1. Is there a workspace file which persists this information which I can supply?
Comment 5 Gordon Henriksen CLA 2006-10-02 20:54:57 EDT
This seems to be the relevant bit:

<view id="org.eclipse.ui.views.ProblemView" partName="Problems">
<viewState columnWidth0="652" columnWidth1="283" columnWidth2="143" columnWidth3="63" columnWidth4="0" horizontalPosition="0" verticalPosition="0">
<columnOrder columnOrderIndex="0"/>
<columnOrder columnOrderIndex="3"/>
<columnOrder columnOrderIndex="2"/>
<columnOrder columnOrderIndex="1"/>
<columnOrder columnOrderIndex="4"/>
</viewState>
</view>
