Create a Windows-dstore connection.
Expand the files / My home node to do an implicit connect.
In the "Enter Password" dialog, press CANCEL.
--> The connectoin still connects.

Attached patch really belongs to bug 158786, it was stored here accidentally. Obsoleting the patch here since it has been moved.

Connecting to a windows Dstore server no longer shows the Enter Password dialog so the bug report is no longer valid.
