Description Randy D. Smith CLA 2006-09-25 18:51:10 EDT
This looks like a reincarnation of bug #135155, bug #132282, or bug #135318. Found during 4.3 smoke testing on 64-bit Linux systems. Was using Sun 1.5.0_08 JVM on EM64T and JRockit on IPF; succeeded with IBM *AND* JRockit on IA32.

Error output is:
Connecting to AC..
org.eclipse.tptp.platform.execution.exceptions.AgentControllerUnavailableException: Error: Unable to connect to the Agent Controller.Timeout while waiting for connection to complete
        at org.eclipse.tptp.platform.execution.client.core.internal.NodeImpl.connect(NodeImpl.java:132)
        at org.eclipse.tptp.platform.execution.samples.TPTPProcess.main(TPTPProcess.java:78)
Error occurred while connecting to 127.0.0.1:org.eclipse.tptp.platform.execution.exceptions.AgentControllerUnavailableException: Error: Unable to connect to the Agent Controller.Timeout while waiting for connection to complete
Comment 1 Randy D. Smith CLA 2006-09-26 14:15:36 EDT
Okay, let's modify that "succeeded" comment. Now that I ran it (once) on Windows-IA32 and actually saw console interation, I realize that I saw *none* on Linux-IA32. Just re-tried and verified. Below is all I saw on Linux:

Connecting to AC..

Connected to 127.0.0.1 at port number 10002

Validate Process - True

Process launched.

Process exited.

Comment 2 Randy D. Smith CLA 2006-10-09 18:12:15 EDT
Still true for TPTP-4.3.0-200610090100
Comment 3 Karla Callaghan CLA 2006-10-09 18:19:59 EDT
Correction to previous comment - this IS working on Windows, failure only on Linux.
Comment 4 Guru Nagarajan CLA 2006-11-06 18:42:04 EST
This is a regression but is retargetted to 4.4 given that there are no consumers for this yet. I do not have the cycles to resolve this in 4.3
Comment 5 Guru Nagarajan CLA 2007-04-23 16:05:57 EDT
Cannot be contained in 4.4

> Please commit the patch and test

The patch is tested.
I can't check it into CVS since I haven't write access yet.
Should I ask someone to do this?

Resolving defect since patch is checked in
Comment 11 Paul Slauenwhite CLA 2007-12-19 07:58:55 EST
Please change the target to the 4.5 iteration when this Bugzilla was resolved.
Comment 12 Paul Slauenwhite CLA 2009-06-30 13:45:20 EDT
As of TPTP 4.6.0, TPTP is in maintenance mode and focusing on improving quality by resolving relevant enhancements/defects and increasing test coverage through test creation, automation, Build Verification Tests (BVTs), and expanded run-time execution. As part of the TPTP Bugzilla housecleaning process (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Bugzilla_Housecleaning_Processes), this enhancement/defect is verified/closed by the Project Lead since this enhancement/defect has been resolved and unverified for more than 1 year and considered to be fixed. If this enhancement/defect is still unresolved and reproducible in the latest TPTP release (http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/), please re-open.
