Description Alex Nan CLA 2006-09-19 16:43:34 EDT
Configure an embedded Derby database, and run a remote log import, for example import a remote Apache access log. The CBEs will be created in an XMI agent instead of an RDB agent.

Defer these defects to 4.4 because they can't be contained by end of day today and they're not on any critical list.
Comment 2 Alex Nan CLA 2007-01-12 19:20:11 EST
We need to fix this in 4.4, Marius can you take a look at this one.
Comment 3 Alex Nan CLA 2007-01-24 10:52:51 EST
Raising this to P1 since it's major usability issue. If a user intends to import a remote large log into Cloudscape the surprise is that the log will be serialized in XMI, and he would eventually end up with an OutOfMemoryException if he tries to load that resource in the log view. Marius please address this if possible.
Comment 4 Paul Klicnik CLA 2007-04-02 16:07:41 EDT
I can't reproduce this defect.

Importing a large log file will add the records to the database (DB size prior to import was ~5MB; increased to ~700MB after). Importing a small log will import into the XMI agent as expected.
Comment 5 Alex Nan CLA 2007-04-02 17:45:42 EDT
I can still reproduce the problem with the M6 candidate driver (TPTP-4.4.0-200703270100A). If the log is remotely imported using the agent controller the an XMI resource is created in the workspace instead of an rdb resource.
Comment 6 Marius Slavescu CLA 2007-05-07 02:39:38 EDT
It works on my machine.
Please reopen if you still see the problem.
Comment 7 Alex Nan CLA 2007-05-14 11:57:32 EDT
The problem that I see with TPTP-4.4.0-200705080100 is that the agent (which is indeed an rdb resource now) is empty.
Comment 8 Alex Nan CLA 2007-05-14 11:59:25 EDT
I am reopening this defect although the initial problem seems to have been fixed but still not 100% since no records are resgistered in the rdb log agent.
