Currently the "Servers" folder is added to the "Project Explprer" view. However, a "Server" is a component of a project and not a project by itself.

It is better to have a separate "Servers" view holding the list of available servers*. Or better, nest a "Servers" or "Server" folder inside a project's main folder in the "Project Explorer" view.

*: Currently there's a "Servers" view that is used to display the stauts of servers and start/stop them so another name should be chosen for this view if we decide to implement it.

If I understand correctly, this is a request to customize the Explorer view so that Servers are shown in a more friendly format (either as a list of servers or maybe per project) instead of the default Servers project that shows up.

Yes actually :) It would be nice to have a list of servers even with all projects closed, but I guess the Project Explorer isn't the best place for this.

Also, when all servers are listed under a single Servers node, one can not quickly determine which server is for which project. So I guess that it would be nice to have a Server node or such a thing inside every project node.

Customizing the project explorer to better display servers is a good idea, but we haven't had anyone available to work on this yet. Marking bug as 'helpwanted' to extend an invitation to the community for anyone who is interested in working on this.
