actually, the name 'org.eclipse.pde.visualization' would be better. Yes, you should CC at least one PMC to this bug and get them to +1 Thanks cc McQ for PMC approval. Have you had discussions about this with anyone on the PMC previously? The topic of visualizing plug-in dependencies and API graphs is part of a 3.3 plan item (bug 154078) As for the request of a new CVS project to conduct/store this exploratory work, this is the first PMC request for approval. Just doing triage -- does anything need to happen here? cc Jeff since this request may have fallen through the cracks Actually we want to make it easier to do this kind of incubation, the PMC suggests creating a PDE incubator much like the Equinox Incubator. In effect this becomes a "component" of PDE with bugzilla entries etc. In the CVS repo there should be a pde-incubator folder and there should be a pde incubator group. I assume the people listed below would be the committers? Wassim et al, there is a little bit more overhead in setting this up but it will put you in a good position for future experimentation. Make sense to you? BTW, we are looking to set up similar incubators for the other Eclipse subprojects as needed. Great idea. Thanks Jeff. Modified the summary accordingly. After discussions with Wassim, we would also like to add the following Equinox committers to the PDE incubator committer list so that we can collaborate closely. Ian Bull is not currently an Eclipse project committer, so the PMC will need to go through the process for him. I'm willing to bet a week's pay that DJ will be able to commit successfully to this directory, first try, no errors.
