Description Arto Laurila CLA 2006-08-24 04:17:24 EDT
Hi!

Has my IP been blocked, cause I get following msg:
"FATAL ERROR: Network error: Connection refused"

My Wincvs CVSRoot connect string is:
:ssh;username=alaurila;password=[MYPW];hostname=d1000711;port=9022:/cvsroot/dsdp

With my Eclipse 3.2 I get following:
- Could not connect to :extssh:alaurila@d1000711:9022/cvsroot/dsdp/org.eclipse.mtj: CVS communication error: org.eclipse.team.internal.ccvs.ssh2.CVSSSH2ServerConnection$SSH2IOException: Connection refused: connect
- Could not connect to :extssh:alaurila@d1000711:9022/cvsroot/dsdp: CVS communication error: org.eclipse.team.internal.ccvs.ssh2.CVSSSH2ServerConnection$SSH2IOException: Connection refused: connect

I'm using my private server D1000711, port 9022 for SSH tunneling and it seems to be working.
I have logged to my outside public server and tried to ping "dev.eclipse.org" which doesn't respond.
Also I have logged to our companys SSH-gateway (which has another public IP) and tried to access the "dev.eclipse.org" without success.

I have logged in to the coimmitter page, verified my password and verified ny DNS, without any problem.

So, is my ip (192.100.124.219) blocked, or is there some other problem.
(if my IP has been blocked, why? how can I avoid that in future?)
(is the cvs connect string wrong, or what)

Another issue:
As a background, I'm working as an architect in the MTJ project and I did add some our development sourcefiles to the Eclipse CVS at Janyary this year. Quite soon after that we had to move our development to our internal CVS server due the Eclipse Due Diligence process against to our code contributions.
Ever since, the MTJ's development has been done in Nokia CVS server.

Now it seems that the Due Diligence process is nearly ready and we could move our development sources to Eclipse CVS.

The problem lies on that the existing Eclipse MTJ CVS repository has old / unnessessary code that has to be removed before the new import.

Could help me to clean the Eclipse MTJ CVS repository, i.e. all existing files has to be deleted away?
Or, can I do that myself (SSH), I think that there was some discussion earlier that I should not remove myself files, instead I should ask help from you? Do I remember right?

But, if you could give answer that should I do the repository cleaning myself or can you help me on that matter.

-Arto

It seems that whole our IP subnet is blocked by Eclipse fw.
---------snip------------
I tried to connect to dev.eclipse.org from 4 different IP:s. Two of them are working just fine, the other two: our internal ssh gateway and external cvs server, are blocked by Eclipse firewall.

This was coincidentally discussed in my last Committers' e-mail (Aug 22). Please log into Committer Tools (https://dev.eclipse.org/committers/) and go to the Committer Announcements Archive to read about it.
