Product: z_Archived Reporter: Peter Kim <petekim>
Component: TPTP.monitoringAssignee: Alex Nan <apnan>
Status: CLOSED FIXED QA Contact:
Severity: normal
Priority: P1 CC: gotohy, prafulr, zung
Version: unspecifiedKeywords: plan
Target Milestone: ---
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows XP

Description Peter Kim CLA 2006-08-23 14:24:16 EDT
Hardware Environment:

Software Environment:

Build:
TPTP 4.2.0.2

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to Preferences > Profiling and Logging > Symptom Database Locations
2. Add the following URL: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software/autonomic/symptomcatalog/v2/db2/v8/en/db2_8_2_en.symptom
3. In Profiling and Logging perspective, right click, and choose "Import". Select "Symptom Database File" in Profiling and Logging category.
4. In "Import Symptom Database File" choose the remote host that has been added.
Import using SymptomV2.0 format importer
5. Click finish

Actual Results: No progress bar

Expected Results: Progress bar should be present or at the very least some indicator that work is being done, especially when symptom database is large, as it gives the appearance that the program has hanged.

Additional Information:
Progress bar is shown when importing using IBM Websphere proprietary format importer, but it moves immediately to the end and doesn't indicate real-time progress

As of TPTP 4.6.0, TPTP is in maintenance mode and focusing on improving quality by resolving relevant enhancements/defects and increasing test coverage through test creation, automation, Build Verification Tests (BVTs), and expanded run-time execution. As part of the TPTP Bugzilla housecleaning process (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Bugzilla_Housecleaning_Processes), this enhancement/defect is verified/closed by the Project Lead since the originator of this enhancement/defect has an inactive Bugzilla account and considered to be fixed. If this enhancement/defect is still unresolved and reproducible in the latest TPTP release (http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/), please re-open.
