I agree that this would be useful, and back when I used Outlook for task management frequently used bold and lists frequently. Marking helpwanted for now since there are too many high priority items ahead of this. Is this for the notes view or the notes text input area inside the planning tab for a task? +1 for the Personal Planning section. I would like to have a stab at this for my first addition to Mylyn. Having never worked on the Mylyn code before any suggestions on this would be great. This bug pertains to the notes section on the Planning tab of the task editor. Contribution is welcome Kevin. Mik, we've had some discussion about this but never came up with the spec, did you want to give us your thoughts on this? Bullets, bold, underline, and strikethrough are the pieces of functionality that I tend to miss. Yes, I think that the bits of functionality that you list are the key ones. The challenge here is finding the right implementation approach, e.g.: 1) Custom SWT-based rich text editor 2) AJAX-based embedding (e.g., TinyMCE, but I think that's LGPL and not compatible with the EPL which Mylyn is under). I recall that the EPF project had a rich editor and just looked into it. It looks like they take approach (2). This could be promising to explore since it could be a matter of integrating their solution with Mylyn. To browse the corresponding code see: http://www.krugle.org/kse/files?query=RichTextEditor+epf#6 The local repository and the notes on the local task editor now support wikitext for rich formating. |
