The "Previous Perspective" action (by default, Shift+Ctrl+F8) does not cycle through perspectives in a meaningful definition of "previous".

This action should switch perspectives in order of activation. For example, if I'm working in the Java perspective, then I switch to the Debug perspective to debug a problem, I would like the "Previous Perspective" action to take me back to the Java perspective.

The current behavior is psuedo-random. For example, my toolbar currenty shows 4 open perspectives:
  A | B | C | D

Regardless of my activation order, if I start from perspective D,the Previous Perspective action will activate B, then A, then C, then D (and repeat).

The CTRL+F8 walks forwards and CTRL+SHIFT+F8 walks backwards through the MRU list for perspectives.

Ironically, that means CTRL+F8 will take you to the last perspective (twice will take you to the second-last perspective).

Oh, cool. Well that's an easy workaround. :-)

The names of the actions should be reversed, though.

I'm not sure what to do with this.  Previous/Next perspective refer to the direction that the "perspective list" will be traversed.  The list itself is an MRU list.

But I'm not sure changing the names to MRU Perspective and LRU Perspective would be acceptable.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
