Description
Brian Smith
I have the same problem. I am not able to install any extensions using the update/install dialog because there is no "free space". (There is enough free space on that drive) I'm on Vista Beta 2. I have this problem too. I am running Windows Server 2003 SP1. I am also having this problem on Windows XP Professional with: Version: 3.2.0 Build id: M20060629-1905 I am unable to install PyDev and Subclipse (these are the only two I've tried so far). Jonathan, Can you tell us more about your XP? We are almost all running XP and so far we did not have any problems in this regard. What file-system type is on the drive that is having problems? (FAT, FAT32, NTFS, etc) I always forget to mention it is an Intel Pentium D 64 bit. Let me know if there are specific things you want to know about my setup. File system: 109.95 GB NTFS (Healthy), 49.7 GB free I ran checkdisk and what not before posting my bug report. I also started eclipse with Sun Java 1.4.2_11 and 1.5.0_06, both environments produced the same error. I have an XP laptop that is 32 bit with an otherwise similar configuration, I'm going to install Eclipse 3.2 on it now to see if I see the same problem. We have bug open for Win 2003: bug 142815. I looks from your report that XP for x64 are based on Win 2003. Now it definitely looks like these are the same bugs. (In reply to comment #4) > Can you tell us more about your XP? We are almost all running XP and so far we > did not have any problems in this regard. As expected, it works fine on my XP laptop that is not 64 bit (but does have many similar applications installed as my 64 bit machine). Jonathan, Can you look at the comment #7 in the bug 142815 and tell us if you see the same thing on your win xp for x64? (In reply to comment #11) > Jonathan, > Can you look at the comment #7 in the bug 142815 and tell us if you see the > same thing on your win xp for x64? > If I understand this correctly, I need to recompile Eclipse to apply that patch, I just spent about 20 minutes trying to figure this out, it will have to wait for another day. Is there a nightly build or something with this change in it? Unfortunately I did not release this change yet. But I will mark this as a duplicate. Since comment 7 and your comment here point to the conclusion that the patch from bug 142815 will fix the problem f0r win 2003, xp x64 and vista. If it doesn't then we will reopen this bug. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 142815 *** |
