Description amehrega CLA 2006-06-20 15:31:08 EDT
The user is often overwhelmed with the amount of data that is displayed at the end of a profiling session. The following feature tries to outline some improvements that may help to abstract and navigate the profiling data:

-	Provide a find operation under the execution time statistics, memory statistics, and code coverage view.
-	Ability to bring deltas to the top or only showing deltas between refreshes
-	Showing what’s changed when deltas are displayed (e.g. By how much time did a method invocation increase by?)
-	Doing post filtration in the views (e.g. showing top 10 base time).
-	We need to make post filtration more apparent.
-	Doing pagination in the tabular views
-	Filtering methods that have a base/cumulative time that is <= a threshold (e.g. 0.0001)

investigate for 4.3
Comment 2 amehrega CLA 2006-07-20 18:27:59 EDT
Eugene,

The description document is missing one of the requirements that I discussed with you: Smart filteration based on launch item. For example:

1) In the case of "Java Application", we can pick up only the classes that are included in the workspace.

2) For "Eclipse Application", we can pick up the plug-in included in the workspace.

3) For "JUnit", we can pick up the JUnit class and the classes that are under test

etc...

As of TPTP 4.6.0, TPTP is in maintenance mode and focusing on improving quality by resolving relevant enhancements/defects and increasing test coverage through test creation, automation, Build Verification Tests (BVTs), and expanded run-time execution. As part of the TPTP Bugzilla housecleaning process (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Bugzilla_Housecleaning_Processes), this enhancement/defect is verified/closed by the Project Lead since this enhancement/defect has been resolved and unverified for more than 1 year and considered to be fixed. If this enhancement/defect is still unresolved and reproducible in the latest TPTP release (http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/), please re-open.
