Description Xuan Chen CLA 2006-06-14 21:51:06 EDT
Our product includes a debugger which is built on top of Eclipse debug
support. When we moved to Eclipse 3.2, M4, we noticed the following problem when debug a multithread application.
If the debugger stopped at a secondary thread (for example, thread 5) so that the scoll bar in the debug view has to be paged down, and I clicked the Terminate button to terminate the debug session, the debug view was not freshed. I have to scroll the scroll bar so that the debug view was in its first page to get debug view refreshed.

And I could re-produce it in the Eclipse Java Debugger.

3.2 M4 was December. Do you mean RC4? If not, please re-test on the 3.2 RC7 (latest 3.2 build).

This can be reproduced on RC7 with JDT. The debuggee doesn't have to be multithreaded.

To reproduce, stop at a point in a debugged app with a fairly deep stack, and size the Debug view so that the vertical scrollbar appears. Scroll the Debug view so that the thread is no longer visible, then terminate the session. The expanded stackframes for that thread will remain in the view until the view is scrolled back to reveal the thread object, at which point the view refreshes properly.

This non-refresh also occurs when the debuggee is resumed.

I just tried it again with JDT on RC7. It is reproducable, but appears to be intermittent

Likely a dup of bug 143805
