Description Balan Subramanian CLA 2006-06-02 10:23:17 EDT
A Managed Agent Explorer was made available as a tech preview in TPTP 4.2. This explorer provided the user with the capability to introspect and interact with standards based managed resources like JMX and WSDM. The explorer has an integrated view which shows properties of the resource, the operations and allows interaction through changing properties and invoking operations. The following enhancements are proposed for this explorer view.
1. Support for complex data types .i.e. support the display and entry of properties, operation parameters and returned values that are complex types.
2. Extension points to provide metadata received from resources, resource topology and user selections to other contributed plugins
3. Automatic refresh for properties as preferred by the user
4. Ability to display metric values
5. Reflect property change notifications on the UI
6. Group displayed properties by capabilities in the tree view (user preference)
7. Show event topics to which the resource publishes events and allow selection
8. Integration with the event views available in TPTP
9. Drag and drop support for properties, returned values and operation parameters
10. Recording sequence of operation invocations
11. Multiple "analysis types" like event notifications, property change notifications, advertisements etc.

Comment 5 Balan Subramanian CLA 2006-10-24 12:02:53 EDT
This feature is code complete. Items that were left out will be added to the feature request for 4.4 and that bug number will be noted here.

As of TPTP 4.6.0, TPTP is in maintenance mode and focusing on improving quality by resolving relevant enhancements/defects and increasing test coverage through test creation, automation, Build Verification Tests (BVTs), and expanded run-time execution. As part of the TPTP Bugzilla housecleaning process (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Bugzilla_Housecleaning_Processes), this enhancement/defect is verified/closed by the Project Lead since this enhancement/defect has been resolved and unverified for more than 1 year and considered to be fixed. If this enhancement/defect is still unresolved and reproducible in the latest TPTP release (http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/), please re-open.
