Description Maxime Daniel CLA 2006-05-24 03:23:02 EDT
3.2 RC5
Discussed the topic with Olivier and we believe that the option does not behave as expected in non standard (bad number of parameters, unexpected parameters) cases. Entered CompilerInvocationTests tests 3 to 8 to help track the issue.
Basically, we would expect that:
- any other value than LOW NORMAL HIGH be rejected;
- fewer parameters than the number of tags result into NORMAL for the missing ones;
- more parameters than the number of tags result either into the option being rejected, or the extraneous parameters be ignored.

The main use of this option comes from JDT UI which takes care of providing appropriate values. This is thus a robustness issue (not a correctness issue), and it does not call for consideration in the 3.2 timeframe.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
