And, it would cause users a LOT of extra work in a complex chain of dependancies.

I've oberved the problem updating WTP 1.0.1 to 1.0.2. WTP consist of two parts, WST and JST .. JST depending on WTP. So,
Started with WTP (WST and JST) at 1.0.1 level. (including all the rereqs).
did a "find updates of currently installed featues" ... it found only WST 1.0.2.
Odd, but I continued ... then, I did "find updates of currently installed features" again ... and this time it did find JST 1.0.2. both WST and JST were at same site ... its unfortunate it doesn't offer me both as once. Ohterwise .. once productts get 5, 10, 20 dependendancies, this will be completely unworkable.

I'll enter as 'normal', but I think once there is a case of, say, 5 dependancies, that all have to be updated one at a time, then this would be major.

This is a mass update of Platform Update bugs that have had no activity in three years. Platform Update was replaced in Eclipse 3.4 (2008) by a new provisioning system called Equinox p2. If this bug or enhancement is not already addressed in p2 please enter a new bug report against p2 (RT > Equinox > p2). If you still want to see this bug addressed in the deprecated Platform Update component, please reopen this bug. Patches welcome.
