Description
Paul Webster
I see this under OS X 10.4.6. If I have both the CVS Repository Exploring and Team Synchronizing perspectives available on the whatzit bar the error will often show up when starting up Eclipse 3.2RC1. If it doesn't I can pretty much always get it to show up by resetting the Team Synchronizing perspective. eclipse.buildId=I20060413-1718 java.version=1.5.0_06 java.vendor=Apple Computer, Inc. BootLoader constants: OS=macosx, ARCH=ppc, WS=carbon, NL=en_US Framework arguments: -keyring /Users/sean/.eclipse_keyring -showlocation Command-line arguments: -os macosx -ws carbon -arch ppc -keyring /Users/sean/.eclipse_keyring -consoleLog -showlocation It turns out that CVS defined a perspective extension that added the history view to the Team perspective which already defined a placeholder for it. A better error message would have been quite helpful here. Perhaps something like: "Duplicate part <partId> added to perspective <perspectiveId> by <pluginId>" If that was the message, I could have fixed this in 5 minutes instead of half an hour of debugging. Is this fixed? This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie. |
