layout feedback, new topic label icons need to be implemented none

Description Jennifer Hayes CLA 2006-04-06 13:48:00 EDT
1) The alignment of the descriptive text preceding a group of topics should be flush left with all text, not overhanging the topic label icons. I have included a screencapture to best explain what I mean. I have used the Samples page as an example, but this comment applies to all Welcome section pages where applicable.

2) Body copy should be black (descriptive text for categories and topics)

3) I provided revised topic label icons to be used in Welcome v7. These icons were delivered in request #1919, Step 5.
The metaphor remains the same, but the style has changed. There is no longer a hover state for topic icons in this context. If a user hovers over the icon however, the underline should appear on the topic label text, and is also clickable.
I added the 3 sample icons in the attached Samples page mockup - I randomly chose pyramid for JDT, etc.

Have you tried the images with the Purple Mash theme? The reason I am asking is because these images are content and we cannot ask contributors to match the theme. With contributions arriving from different places, you will not be able to guarantee consistency with any of the themes (and the question is if you should).

These are the new icon styles - the only thing that has changed is there is now a drop shadow, and there is no more box upon hover. Your comment could have been applied to V6 as well in terms of 3rd party contributions not being consistent, yet those icons were implemented. The icon metaphor style has not changed - the accent to the icon has.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and remove the stalebug whiteboard tag. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
