3.2M5, Windows XP SP2
Turn on CVS decorations, default settings.
Expand the Package Explorer a little so you can see some filenames.
Click in the Package Explorer, and then start typing a filename quickly.
If the file is NOT checked out, then the cursor will jump down to that file.
If the file IS checked out, then it won't, because CVS text decoration sticks a ">" in front of the filename by default. (If you type the ">" manually then the filename will be found.)

Resource Navigator shows the same behavior. I imagine all tree based views would.

Really, the search should be done using the pre-decoration label. I'm not sure if this is actually possible since the searching is happing at the viewer level and not the model level. Moving to UI for comment.

Assigning back to the UI inbox. It looks like the SWT Tree widget that is providing this behavior. I'm not really sure what the right answer is here but since it effects all TreeViewers, I think it is a Platform UI issue.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.
