Description Karla Callaghan CLA 2006-03-08 14:44:33 EST
Split up bug 125104 so that it covers only the Win IPF work and this covers the Win EM64T work. While there is no expectation of additional development work for these 2 64-bit platforms, there is testing effort and possible issues to resolve.

This platform is being targeted beyond 4.2, whereas the IPF platform is expected to be completed for 4.2.

The description as copied from the original bug:
Support existing RAC clients and agents through compatibility layers on Windows
IPF and EM64T (64-bit) platform. Work estimate assumes the Windows version is
working and this work is focused on porting.

Basic support does not include file transfer, SSL, or dynamic discovery (aka
peer2peer) support.

(enhancement 119571 is being broken down to better track the work through the
iterations - start using this bugzilla for committing work in this area)

Everything looks ready to go into place with the i3 RC build once the machine is on the network for real.
Comment 2 Randy D. Smith CLA 2006-05-22 11:08:11 EDT
Basic functionality is in place in that SampleClient works as does PerfmonAgent. However, profiling is DOA. It will start the profiled CarModel, but then terminate. If I "java -XrunpiAgent profilingExample/CarModel" externally, it runs fine until I "Start Monitoring" from the workbench.
Comment 3 Karla Callaghan CLA 2006-05-22 11:22:25 EDT
Setting priority to P1 since we do want to complete EM64T on Windows.
Comment 4 Randy D. Smith CLA 2006-05-24 12:22:38 EDT
I was holding off declaring this done as I saw profiling as DOA. I understand there are successful test passes, which implies we have a JVM issue. I'll bugzilla the specific JVM I'm seeing problems with, and declare this (basic compatibility for EM64T) as done.
