Description
Wendell Beckwith
Sounds nasty. FYI, some of us use subclipse for our work on Apache so this bug is near and dear to our hearts. I'll ask Lawrence to investigate since he uses subclipse. It would be greatly appreciated if a dev could comment on this as I have been usuccessful in getting wtp and subclipse to work. Or rather subclipse works perfectly right up and until I install the wtp plugins. Subclipse also works if I simply disable the J2EE Standard Tools. Please also see Bug 130571. It contains some additional information on the problem. Another user on the subclipse dev list had the following to add: I hit this same issue when installing the latest WTP milestone build. Removing WTP and starting Eclipse with -clean (because it *totally* hosed my workspace) made everything better. It seems to be either a WTP issue or an eclipse issue. Removing the persistent property filter from the popupMenus extension 'fixed' the problem. Since the actions come back when webtools is uninstalled, the property *is* there but something in WTP is causing the tester to fail. And I have found a path that allows it to work until a restart of eclipse: 1. Start eclipse with wtp and subclipse installed. The IDE will function (badly) as described in this bug report. 2. Got to Help > Software Updates > Manage Configuration and disable the J2EE Tooling for WTP. 3. Allow eclipse to restart the IDE and notice that subclipse menu items are now available when right clinking on a project and selecting the team menu. 4. Go back to Manage Configurations and enable JST buy only Apply the changes, don't allow a restart. At this point everything works correctly until a restart of eclipse. WTP should really be moving on this as this is a serious issue. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 130571 *** I'm closing this bug. This problem will be followed up in duplicate bug 130571 as marked by Binyan. |
