Description Andre Weinand CLA 2006-02-12 12:13:19 EST
To support MacOS X on the Intel architecture we should build
      liblocalfile_1_0_0.jnilib
as a Universal Binary.

org.eclipse.core.filesystem.macosx.ppc for Intel/PCC

replaces org.eclipse.core.filesystem.macosx.ppc_1.0.0.vXXXXXXXX.jar from Eclipse plugin folder
Comment 4 Andre Weinand CLA 2006-02-12 13:07:07 EST
John, please ignore the third attachment. It is only a convenience for those who run Eclipse on MacIntel and just need a replacement jar...

I'm not keen on the idea of adding something like this during milestone week. Is MacIntel support targeting M5, or can we wait until next week? Andre, just so you know, you do have commit rights to this fragment (I appreciate the bug report and advanced warning though).
Comment 6 Andre Weinand CLA 2006-02-13 12:17:26 EST
No, MacIntel is not targeting M5 and this can wait until next week (I just wanted to make this availbale for the growing number of MacIntel users).

Yes, I know that I have commit rights but I wanted to coordinate this with you.
I can apply the patch for the fragment after M5, early next week.
Comment 7 Jeff CLA 2006-02-16 17:26:45 EST
My development relies on Eclipse and I just got a new iMac Intel Duo. Please release a working version soon!

You don't need the Intel version of this library to run Eclipse on MacIntel. Eclipse falls back to a pure Java implemention
Just get one of the latest integration builds (or wait for the finel M5). They have a universal binary of SWT and just run fine on iMac Intel Duo.
Comment 9 Andre Weinand CLA 2006-02-19 17:33:56 EST
I've released a universal binary of liblocalfile and updated the tag in core-macosx.map.
Comment 10 John Arthorne CLA 2006-03-15 11:57:59 EST
Marking fixed.
Comment 11 Andre Weinand CLA 2006-04-26 06:22:18 EDT
Please see bug #138047: Shipping Mac libraries

I think we should consider doing the same for the universal version of liblocalfile?

Closing this bug again because it indicates when Intel support was added. Opened bug 138723 against platform resources to switch to architecture-independent fragment for mac.
